Black Power advocates cautioned fellow Blacks that embracing Blackness would lead to a status of being in “paper and electronic” handcuffs, which is where we are as we approach 2012. But there is hope. We are looking forward toward a gathering of those who cultivate Blackness, in either Los Angeles or Atlanta, the weekend of February 11, 2012, to discuss our status. We need to do what was done in 1972-The Black Political Convention in Gary, IN, when we spoke to each other rather than at each other. Stay tuned.
